In Russia, 8 July is the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity. It's named after Peter and Fevronia of Murom, a medieval couple remembered for staying devoted to each other all their lives. Its symbol is the white chamomile. Couples choose the date for weddings, and long-married pairs are honoured. Other countries have family days too: Canada's provinces in February, and the UN's International Day of Families on 15 May.
